My Life Has Changed in a Positive Way Due to the Law of Cause and Effect
“My heart was at peace when I learned about the Law of Cause and Effect” says Kuniko Nishida from Yatsushiro City in Kumamoto Prefecture (photo) who participated in Aprilʼs SeiGohonzon Ceremony. Eight years ago Kunikoʼs son got sick and then her husband was diagnosed with an incurable disease. “Why me?” asked tormented Kuniko. She asked a faith healer to exorcise the evil spirits from her. She also sought help from a fortune-telling group called Takashima Ekidan, a fortune-telling based on the number of strokes of Chinese character in oneʼs name as well as others. She also went to Hayaokikai (Early Rising Group) but nothing changed. In May of last year she started listening to Buddhism thanks to a flyer about a Buddhist lecture in Yatsushiro city. “I was frightened and anxious because I didnʼt understand what the cause of my destiny was. But my life changed in a positive way when I knew that my destiny was determined by my own deeds,” she said with a smile. Kuniko now invites her family and relatives to listen to Buddhist lectures which she started to hold in February at her house and they listen seriously to Buddhism all together.
