Let Us Celebrate the New Year with This Song!
I would like to introduce a beautiful song translated by Prof. Juliet Winters Carpenter. She is the world-famous translator who translated You Were Born For A Reason, Unlocking Tannisho, and other books by Takamori-sensei. This song was born from a burning desire to see Earth be free from violence. It is a great love song for all humanity. "A dream that’s big and beautiful to make the whole world beam." These words from the lyrics caught my heart. This song sounds like a theme song for Shinran Followers, who live with the supreme dream of conveying 'why we live' to all humanity.
“If You Were a Flower and I Were the Wind”
Idea & concept: Yohei Yoshimura Songwriter: Shinhei Umehara
Oh show me where to find, where to find a great big love A love that’s big and bold enough to tell the whole world of. Oh show me where to find, where to find a great big dream A dream that’s big and beautiful to make the whole world beam. You’re the one, you’re the one to lead the way and to guide us through the night;
You’re the one, you’re the one to be a bridge that can help this world unite; You’re the one, you’re the one whose vision can inspire us all to climb; You’re the one, you’re the one whose name will be etched in memory through time. Let’s just say that if you were a flower, I would be earth for you to grow in.
Let’s just say that if I were the wind, then you would be sky for me to blow in.
The sweat upon your brow, and the tears you shed in sorrow, Will all turn into strength to build a bright tomorrow.
For history’s always made by a dreamer who’s full of pride So never give up on your dream and the door will open wide. Give your love, love that needs no words at all, show the world how much you care.
Share your dreams, dreams beyond the tears you shed, be one with people everywhere. On this blue one-and-only planet filled with water sea to sea We were born, every single one of us, into one great family.
Let’s just say that if you were a flower, I would be earth for you to grow in.
Let’s just say that if I were the wind, then you would be sky for me to blow in.
